Yes, it is about ME.

Okay, I had some photos taken by a friend and I'd like your feedback on which one you'd use for a book jacket cover if you were me.

The photographer really likes the non-eyeglass Annie. I like the glasses.

This was about the least painful of photo sessions, but that had a lot to do with Susan and how comfortable she made me. We laughed a LOT, especially when looking at the pictures later (my favorite, not to be shown here, was one that I like to call, "who farted?") But I had put off this photo stuff for so long, hoping that a good photo of myself would just fall into my lap (it hasn't) so I had to bite the bullet and go get shot today.

So let me know - jeeze, I haven't looked at myself so much since I took a makeup class in college (theatrical makeup)

I like the no glasses shot, but that might be because you look like other photos I have seen of you. Do you usually wear the glasses? If so, and that is how you see yourself, then go with that one! :)

I'm with the photographer - the non-glasses pic of you is gorgeous. (That said, I like the glasses pic, too - it just doesn't scream dust jacket to me like the other.)

I like the non-glasses one. You look "softer" (in the nicest possible way). The glasses one is fun, but you look a bit maniacal (world domination on your mind?).

I was initially going to say the glasses one, but looking back again (after reading all the comments siding for non-glasses), I've changed my mind. Non-glasses.

Sans glasses, I think. Mostly because you look more relaxed in that picture. But glasses is also pretty, just more of a friendly snapshot. The first has a note -- just a note -- of formality, which makes it good for professional purposes, IMHO. Bottom line: you look great!

I'm voting for the non glasses one. Not that I don't love the glasses but in that shot you look rather giddy and that doesn't scream book jacket as much as the non glasses calmer version.

Non. Your eyes and face are more open and you appear more approachable, welcoming. The glasses one looks like you are giddy.

As someone who comes from a long line of glasses wearers I hate to say this, but the non-glasses photo is best. I think if the grin on the glasses one wasn't quite so cheesy (!) I'd have said that one. I'm off to plead forgiveness to the gods and godesses of glasses! ;)

The photographer knows best, I vote for no glasses. Your smile is softer in that pose which makes you look relaxed and approachable.

It's a lovely picture of you :)

I like the no glasses picture - in the glasses picture it looks like you are being choked by your scarf :)

Fairly educated opinion here - I'm a magazine art director - the glasses are too distracting for a photo. They probably look great in real life, but the one of you without the glasses is a more flattering, friendly and welcoming picture, which seems like what you'd want in a book photo.

I gotta side with mr photographer too. Both are lovely, non-glasses wins.

PS - you may not want to publish this comment, it's ok, but when you're talking about celebrity/personality/author photos, they need to look like the public thinks the person looks. (This is why they are usually boring shots - consistency.) I'm not familiar with your other public photos, but someone up there said no-glasses is consistent with that, so that's another reason to go with the no-glasses shot.

I vote no glasses. It's a softer look, more welcoming, friendly. Not that you look unwelcoming or unfriendly with the glasses, but there's just something about the non-glasses shot that appeals to me more! Maybe it's that it's less "busy" with only the scarf as an accessory?

I have to go with no glasses too, but because of the expression, not the glasses. The one has a calm smile, while the other looks a little more like your having a demonic giggle.

I'm torn. I love the no glasses shot b/c it shows your grace and elegance. The glasses picture shows your fun side. I'm leaning towards glasses.

I vote for non glasses & wanted to comment that the non glasses picture just needs to be color corrected & is more faded than the other & that's why people may vote for the glasses----so just get your graphics person cracking. But you look younger & prettier & friendlier in the no glasses! Thanks for your talent. I'm brand new to all this blogging & have no idea what I'm doing, but your stuff is fabulous! Betty
