REAL Quick!

Applying makeup in Pittsburgh at Knit One. Did I mention that the shop has TERRIFIC light?

Once again, I apologize that this is such a short blog entry ...

I've been knitting like a maniac, writing up patterns, rechecking patterns, other stuff. I have so friggin' much to do and it IS getting done, but my goodness it's hard to knit in the heat!

Here're a few things that I made / finished in the past 2 days:

This dress was knit by Laura in Texas - she sent the pieces to me and I finished it (sewed it together, blocked it, make the collar and belt, sewed the picot hem.) It's hard to tell, but the hem is really lovely, and the dress looks EXACTLY as I envisioned it! It's worked in Louet MerLin

The Raspberry Silk & Mohair confection was my TNNA project - If anyone saw me working on something at TNNA, it was this... This top has a built in shelf bra (which I have to add elastic to...) and the strap placement is still in debate. My hope was to make a sexy tank top that anyone could wear - we'll see... The yarn was a dream - Artyarns Silk Rhapsody, Regal Silk and Silk Mohair. Fun!

The blue and white 'restoration' inspired kimono top (blue and white, in Karabella Vintage Cotton) was started by a knitter, then returned to me after some discussion about the amount of yarn yet needed, etc. It knitted up faster than I'd expected, and used less yarn than either of us expected, but then again - I wasn't expecting to knit it up!

Tonight my plan is a corset, and a hat tomorrow. Then I'll have a goodly amount to take to my editor on Wed so she can take herself off of the heart medication. I'll stay on mine for a bit longer...

Yes, I may lengthen it if I have time before the shoot, but right now I wanted to get it to wearable length before moving on to other stuff that needs to be knitted.

Annie, I love love love the two tops. The dress is beautiful, but I don't think I could wear it, but those two tops I'd knit an wear in a heartbeat. I've actually been thinking about knitting tops that have a means of accomodating a bra or which have their own built in support. I can't wait to see the final pattern on yours :)

Oh I love all of them. I MUST have the book when it comes out.

I had the pleasure to see what Sara will be knitting for you. She was swatching this evening. I can't wait to see the finished project.

Still working on the Cocoon Shrug. I am getting close to finishing the circle - just a few more inches to go. Then I will be off working on the sleeves. I expect to have it finished so I can wear it in our 90 degree weather. LOL

I finally posted about the classes that you gave at Lambikins that I took stop by in your *spare* time and check it out.

I've heard praise for you and your designs all over the internet. Wow, it makes sense, these look fantastic. I never thought I'd knit a dress, ever, but that dress in that colour looks so lovely and retro without looking old fashioned. I'm thinking about it now, for sure!

Hey, I knit that dress! :D It's beautiful. It was difficult for me to envision the final look when it was in pieces but now, all I can say is WOW!

I'm so happy to see it finished.

Annie- I love the dress. I will buy the book JUST for that dress. What I want to know is this: How does it look after a day's wearing?

Oh my - they are SO beautiful! I'm assuming they are for the Romantic Knits book also, I can't wait to see it if these patterns are any indication of what's in store for me. It's like a big wrapped surprise present and I can't wait to dive in!

The dress is elegant, raspberry tank-cami is very feminine, and blue and white top is absolutely lovely. I would happily knit and wear that wrap!
Is it meant to be worn over something? Otherwise, there may be slippage and bust coverage issues due to the placement of the closure.

Thoughtfully,
