This is the line waiting for the bobble feet dolls. We were about 400 back from the gate, so we got ours! YAY!! And the Saints won! That team KNOWS how to put on a show - there was NEVER a dull moment. The audience was huge, over 7,000, and SO excited. We all did the roller coaster.
And a knitter (Hi, Stella!) was ahead of us in line for food, so how could the game be any better? Fireworks!
The music is Anonymous 4, Echo la primavera, ballata for 2 Voices, S. 58, from The Second Circle. I thought that Saints deserved heavenly music...
Last night the colors were so saturated and rich after the 15 minutes wind-rainstorm that hit the northern St. Paul area. We missed the storm, we got in line just after it left the area. We're lucky!
Okay, so I got the sound on the video before the picture and it sounded like the sandhill cranes in Nebraska (if you haven't been and won't get to the Serengeti, this is the next best thing - humans outnumbered by birds, by far). However, it was just another bunch of wonderful Saints' fans, sounding off. Then it got even better - the fireworks and chants combined were awe-some. Wish I had been there. Guess I'll have to go.
I know this has little to do with knitting but I am fascinated with the music you have with the fireworks ... would you share the source of those wonderful voices, please? Susan
Annie, I have never knit in the round or followed a chart before but am trying to make Hannah's poncho. When you say to work all rows of chart 1 seven times around all stitches do you mean do row 1 seven times then go on to row 2 etc? It appears that I will have an extra 2 stitches in the section if I do all rows and then begin again. Thanks in advance to you or whoever can enlighten me. Dolores Jones
You'll divide your original 91 [104, 117, 117, 130] sts into 7 [8, 9, 9, 10] sections of 13 sts each.
Then, following the pattern as written, when it's time to work chart 1 you'll work sts 1-13 7 [8, 9, 9, 10] times around all the stitches.
Then work round 2 in the same way, and on and on until you get to the end of the chart (Row 10) Please note that at this point you'll have 15 sts in each of your 7 [8, 9, 9, 10] sections due to the increase YO's in row 9 of the chart.
Work the following charts in the same manner where indicated in the pattern.
Thanks, Annie. I thought that must be how but wanted to make sure. I didn't mention it before but I want you to know that I remember your family in prayer almost everyday. Hope the shingles are clearing up...seems with everything else this was so un-necesary.

Annie, it looks like a crane fly. See:

Just saw the storms on our local news, so glad you were not affected.
sounds like both the game and the neighborhood mixer was lots of fun.
Having recently watched Pan's Labyrinth, I can say with authority: that is a fairy/faerie.
I have no clue what that thing is, but....it's beautiful and the colors are magnificent, perhaps it will inspire a pattern that you always do so well.
Kinda looks like a Mayfly to me.....
Glad you had a fun block party!
It looks like a mosquito to me. A big one. Gosh, for your sake, I hope I'm wrong.
Check out the craftywench blog. She posted a photo this past week with something that looked like this called a hummingbird moth.

I agree that it looks like a crane fly. See here: http://www.whatsthatbug.com/crane.html
Was the source of the music there all the time and I missed it? If so, sorry for my lack of attention ... if you added it, thanks bunches!
Susan
Definitely crane fly - and here is a nifty site for identifying other little beasties:

Yep, it's a crane fly. We've always called them daddy longlegs. I hate when they get into the house!
