Very Sad
Today we found her under the hedge where she had passed away - from what we have no clue - but whatever it was it seems it was peaceful. There were no marks or signs of any trauma on her, she just looked as if she were asleep.
Obviously it's been a rough day. Both kids are beside themselves, so inconsolable, Max even turned down a playdate with several of his buds to stay home and mourn. Hannah just got home from an event at the Temple and she's already planning the funeral.
Poor little (okay, rather big) Gigi - we loved you so much! Hannah carried her around in her shirt for the first 3 months of her life, which is probably why she was such an amazingly loving and friendly kitty.

Feed me, baby!

Oh, no. I began reading your book this evening and just read about Butkis. I know there has been a year and a half between losses, but it all happened today for me. I'm sorry.
I'm so sorry about your beautiful Gigicat. It's so hard to lose a pet.
Oh, Annie. I'm so sorry for all of you. :(
oh, no! i'm so sorry to read this, annie. goodbye, gigi, girl. she's in a better place.

Oh, Annie, I'm so sorry. My love to your whole family (especially Hannah, who shares my stepsister's name which earns her a little extra fondness in my heart).
My condolences to all. Sending a great big {{{{HUG}}}} for you and your family.
I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. Kitties are such comfort and it's especially hard when they go on. Do you know the book Cat Heaven by Cynthia Rylant or The Tenth Good Thing about Barney by Judith Viorst? I've found both to be a help to both children and adults. (There is a funeral for Barney.)
Hugs to you all.
Janet
I'm so sorry--it does get better with some time, but the sorrow never fully goes away. My itty-bitty kitty passed away recently too, and she was buried in the woods behind the house.
Our Pearl has been gone for a number of months now, but last night I inexplicably headed into the utility room to feed him. I wonder if Gigi was passing through and I mistook her for Black Pearl - they could have been twins, so similar in appearance.
Good for Hannah for planning a funeral, it will be good for all of you. Blessed be.
I'm so sorry for your loss.
Please convey my sympathies to your children and Gerry on the loss of Gigicat. My sympathies to you too, Annie. I know how difficult it can be to loose a loving animal who's been with you for years.
I'm so sorry for your loss. We have lost two wonderful kitties & face the prospect of losing another in the next few years (he's 18 & has had kidney problems. The last one was my special kitty. When I was on the computer, she would sit right behind me on the foot of the bed. When I sat on the couch watching TV, she sat on the back of it right next to my left shoulder. And, at night, she slept on the pillow next to mine on her own special blanket. It took over a year before I was ready to get another kitty (& I think that somehow the birth of my first grandchild had something to do with that). So have a good Irish wake for Gigicat & don't get another cat until you're all ready.
I'm so sorry for your loss. I just lost my 17-year old Papillon in May...
My condolences in the loss of Gigi. I think they just know when it's time to go sometimes. May you find peace in the memories of good times with her.
hi annie & family,
im sorry to hear about Gigi.
Peace&blessings

So sorry to hear about the loss of your cat. I'm glad to hear, though, that her passing seems to have been a peaceful one.
I know exactly how your family feels, I had to put down my beloved little doggie July 4 weekend. There is this really nice guy on etsy who hand made me a beautiful urn with a memory box space where I keep Bella's collar, pawprint cast and picture, it sure helps a lot.
Oh geez - I'm so so sorry about
Gigi.
I second the suggestion for Viorst's 10th Good thing About Barney - my parents got it for us when I lost my first cat when I was nine - I give it to all my adult friends who lose a pet now.
Sending warmest energies toa ll of you,
Dawn
I'm so sorry! I wish I were close enough to bring you cookies and give everyone a hug...it's so hard to lose a cherished family pet. I personally love Cynthia Rylants "Cat Heaven". I've given copies of it to a number of friends who lost furry family members. I'll keep you all in my thoughts.
I am so, so sorry to hear about Gigi's passing. I am glad that she seemed to have passed in peace, and I hope the funeral helps the kids (you and Gerry too) with the grieving.
Annie - I'm so sorry to hear about Gigi's passing. Hopefully she is in a better place. Hugs to all of you.
Karen
