Substance Abuse

So here I am in Hamilton, Ohio - a town I've learned inside and out with just three quick drive throughs - and I'm teaching another nutty class of knitters who have all just learned to cable without a cable needle. Everyone is excited, I am happy, but I wish we'd get at least one of the bags done today. Ah, well, not to be...

Yesterday one of my students brought a few bottles of wine for me - I would have to say that is probably the best student I've ever had. Yep, absolutely the best.

And - along the same lines - another student had made a big plate of "A" cookies, which I immediately used to form the abbreviation AA in front of the aforementioned bottle of wine. Never let it be said I have a single drop of subtlety.

You're not in AA are you?

Subtlety is highly overrated. :-)
Thanks for the smile tonight.

"A" as in "A for effort," right? Or as in "The Scarlet Letter?" Maybe my color view was a little off, hmm?

Annie you're a hoot! Pretty please come to Texas so I can take a class from you! I know it's really hot here now but I'll promise to bring a fan and some cool drinks. Have fun on the road!

Well, I am back to work today after taking Annies Coccoon Shrug class on Sat and the Sampler Bag class on Sunday. Unfortunately I could't take all of them and I'm so SAD!!!! Can I just say that I L-O-V-E-D both classes. On a scale from 1-10 I would say that I am about a 6.5 - 7 on the knitting scale but Annie made me feel like a 10!!!!! She is sooooo awesome. Everything was clearly explained several times in several ways, she is very hands on and will work with every single person, individually that may have any questions. I can't begin to tell you how confident I was about my knitting when I left those classes!!! If you have never taken an "Annie class" I highly recommend it! SHE IS A ROCKSTAR!!!! Annie you are the BEST!!!! Thank you so much for your time and energy and helping me step outside of my "comfort zone" of scarves and bags!!!!

Also....she does a great comercial montage. If you get a chance to meet her, make sure you request one!!

Again...you rock Annie!!! I'll catch ALL of the classes next time around!!! Until then...I'll continue to stalk you via your blog!! Knit on Rockstar!!!

Annie - I was in Saturday's class and loved every minute of it! You are an inspiration far beyond your knitting wisdom. I left your class with a wonderfully positive attitude about my knitting AND my life! I signed up for a knitting class and got nostalgia, instructions for life and stand up comedy - could you ask for a better time? I wish I could have taken more classes but I have to work to support my knitting habit. Your book is TREMENDOUS. Thanks so much for the memorable day. I believe my sister, neice and I will be Annie fans forever!

I have just read your post of the 9th and wanted to recommend a book to you, The Bully The Bullied and The Bystander by Barbara Coloroso. I have worked in a bookstore and this one kept selling. I too am sensitive, that is just how it is, people come with different attributes. All of us need to start to really make this a world that we would like to live in. Sometimes the authority simply doesn't know what to do. Anyway, I hope it helps. P.S. I love your knitting designs!
