Big & Bright
Some of my luggage is - ahem - delayed. NOT lost. Just delayed.
Just taking a little side trip through the Denver Luggage Spa, n'est ce pas? Yeehaw!
That almost rhymed.
I'm staying with the owner of Hill Country Weavers, she's run to get barbeque while I'm settling into her place with my feet up and the wifi going, blogging and enjoying the cinnamon soap. Yeehaw!
Poor, nice lady. I didn't mean to be so air-headed & distant, sorry! Thank you for the basket! I promise when I eat some of the chocolate from it I'll be much more myself...
Like Any Other Week
Ideas are floating around - when they finally feel like coming out it will be a torrent - but for now I'm spending an inordinate amount of time arranging cereal boxes.
The kids FINALLY had their checkup with our family doctor - the diagnosis? They're obscenely healthy. And Max needs new sox. How proud he makes me.
I would have, too, and she laughed when I got my shot (and pretended to cry) so all ended well. She certainly behaved more bravely that I did when I was her age.
I still have a bit of pain - nothing like last week - and I will get back on the stick with my Yoga DVD and will finally make the acquaintance of a Chiropractor in MN.
Tomorrow is a cupcake brunch (mmmmm) and a knitting with wire class. We're crossing our fingers that the aforementioned suitcase (with ALL of my wire stuff inside) appears in time for class. Oy.
I have a feeling this will be a fun week, but an unusual week -

Austin, TX and Hill Country Spinners and Weavers are great! We make a trek every March to see daughter and family! Have a guten howdy day!
I thought I was lucky to live in London, where there are three great independent yarn stores and the nigh on legendary Liberty of London yarn department.
Then I went to Austin for the South by Southwest Conference in March, and a good friend took me to Hill Country Weavers.
I thought I'd died and gone to yarn heaven. I may have gotten a little giddy from the sight of all that yarn in one place. It must have taken me a good hour to make some selections, and I honestly thought I was good and done, but when I discovered I had some dollars left on the way home, well, I had to make a pit-stop on the way back to the airport.
I *am* lucky to live near three great yarn shops in London, but Hill Country Weavers will always hold a special place in my heart.
I'm sure you'll have a fabulous time there :)
Austin is a great town! Hope you have oodles of fun (and no more obstacles) while you're there. It's good to hear that you all survived "getting shot" and that the poor, holey sock boy is obscenely healthy.
And OH MY that kitten is adorable! I love orange kitties (but they ARE redheads, so lookout!).
Delayed luggage is not fun! Hope the trip through the luggage spa relaxed them at least! I was not aware there was a luggage spa. Hmmm, so that's where the delayed luggage is actually going. Sneaky luggage. Make like it's not their fault and blame the luggage handlers when in reality the luggage wanted a facial. Sneaky sneaky!
I love the idea of putting hand-knitted copper screens in the cabinet doors! I bought a crocheted copper bracelet this summer in the UP (Michigan; lots of copper mines, and therefore appropriate), and have been contemplating taking on wire knitting ever since (I wish I were in Austin taking your class!). I'm glad to hear the kids are healthy, barring small toe-exposure issues :) I'll keep my fingers crossed that your luggage arrives; I hate needing something in my luggage and having it go off on holiday without me! Enjoy Austin :)
Wow, those are some impressive holes in Max's socks! Enjoy Austin -- there is no hospitality like southern/western.
