Have Cat, Will Haunt
Last night as I was wrapping up to go to bed Gerry came downstairs with Shiloh dressed as - An American Girl Doll! (Kit, to be exact)
I asked Hannah what prompted her to dress up the cat? "He just looked like he wanted a costume..."
This stuff makes an AMAZING filling for body parts, and the extra bonus? The seeds look like fingernails. Groovy. They're tied onto the bushes out front. Right at face level.
So, against all odds, once again we've pulled a memorable Halloween out of thin air. Remember last year when our house was on the market so we could move to MN? Before we knew Gerry was sick - before his back was even hurting? And finally, here is a video that makes me laugh so hard I pee. Scary, huh? I have no idea WHY this makes me laugh - it's from a Monty Python - but Gerry grabbed it for me a few days ago and I watch it every now and then.
Whenever he wants to make me dissolve into giggles he'll say, in a German accent, "How does he SMELL?"
This is marriage.

Wow -- you pulled some great Hallowe'en decorations right out of the hat! They look great :) And Shiloh is clearly a theatrical cat -- they're like that sometimes. Have an excellent evening!
Are you familiar with Arlene Williams & her cat Quanah (from the old Knitlist)? They live in Toronto & Quanah (also an orange tabby but longer haired & with lots of white) wanted to still go out in really cold winter weather. So Arlene knitted a thick wool sweater for him (similar to the one she knitted for the neighbor's Maltese that Quanah like to hang out with). At first Quanah didn't much care for it but, when he realized that wearing it was the only way he'd get out to play, he wore it: http://webhome.idirect.com/~quanah/qstory8.html
So I guess some cats will wear clothes. I don't know why that video makes you laugh but it makes me laugh too!
Annie, that photo from last year inspired my two very favorite Halloween decorations, two knitted spider webs that adorn the bookshelf. I confess I had forgotten that I got the idea from you, and I had to say Thank You!
I love the dressed up cat. I had an orange tabby that I got at about the same age as Hannah, but on my brother's birthday, not mine, who I used to dress up in doll clothes.
On the other hand, I've knit guinea pig sweaters, just because I can.
Ah the latex gloves - great for Halloween...we used to fill them with Popcorn for school classroom treats using a candy corn as a fingernail.
Annie, you are just too creative. I love the spider web and the ghoulish pumpkin!
I was just watching the Monty Python clip, when my husband walked into the room and stood behind me for a minute before asking "Is that Hitler?" I tried to explain that it was from a Monty Python skit, and that I was really just reading a knitting blog, but that seemed to only raise more questions. I couldn't stop giggling and finally just left him to wonder what exactly the knitters are doing.
